Armstrong Dirt & Air Separator
Sizes: 2” to 18” ANSI Flanged
The Armstrong dirt & air separators (DAS) are designed to eliminate trapped air and suspended dirt particles associated with the start-up and maintenance of hydronic and HVAC systems. Available in High Velocity (DASH) models as well. Operating pressure of 125psi up to 250 deg F (150psi for 18” Model). Non-ASME options are available.
Armstrong Vortex Air Separator
Sizes: 2” to 3” NPT and 4” to 24” ANSI Flanged
The Armstrong vortex air separators create a vortex or whirlpool action, sending the heavier air-free water to the outer portion of the tank, and allowing the lighter air-entrained water mixture to move into the lower-velocity center. At the center of the vortex the air is released from the water, forming bubbles and exits through an air vent or compression tank installed above it. Available with a strainer (VAS Model) or without (VA Model). Working pressures range from 125-165psi and 350-450 deg F depending on the model and size.
Armstrong Expansion Tanks
Sizes: AET Plain Steel tanks: 15 to 525 GPM and 15 to 525 gallons
AX Diaphragm tanks: 8 to 211 GPM and 8 to 211 gallons
Type L Bladder tanks: 10 to 1056 GPM and 53 to 1320 gallons
Armstrong Expansion Tanks are designed to reduce tank sizes by up to 80% over standard designs. Diaphragm or bladder tanks isolate the expanded water from the pressure controlling air cushion. Expansion tanks available with working pressures from 125 to 150psi and 40 to 450 deg F, depending on model.
